Hi
Do you have any templates for a monthly newsletter?
Working on them for you 🙂
Birgit
Hi, I’ve started at a new facility and they use “Apple TV” and a mini iPad to run interactive activities . I can’t get PowerPoint games to run. Could you please advise?
Hi Julie
Top of my head I do not understand why, let me chase up an answer for you.
Take care and stay safe 🙂

Good afternoon
I just done the powerpoint quizes with the residents and it was a big hit, can we get more of them please… maybe an interactive scrabble and a crosswords, or pictaguess etc… they loved it and love the little side effects too. Maybe with the wheel of fortune can it tally up the money.
HI
Thank you do much for letting me know. I am so happy your residents enjoyed the game. Tallying up the money is best done on a whiteboard as each facility varies in how many residents play. In saying that it would involve lots more macros in the background and some facilities have issues with them so the game don’t play correctly.
As for the others you mentioned these are already in discussions and trying to fine tune the mechanics of them.
They will appear as they are done.
Thank you once again, it makes my day hearing these comments 🙂
Birgit
Hi, I can’t seem to find “Friendly Battles” files anymore…. have they been removed?
Thanks Aleah 🙂
Hi Birgit
We loved your 100th birthday buntings and resources for a recent celebration in our day centre.
Would it be possible to also create some for 90th or 80th birthday?
Many thanks, love your work
Anja
Thanks Anja.
I’ll get them done for you next week. Let me know if you need them earlier.
Take care and stay safe 😃
Birgit
Hi Anja
Room decorations for 90th and 80th birthday are now available for download.
Take care and stay safe 🙂
If you have any issues please let me know.
Birgit 🙂
Hi there
Can anyone give me some suggestions, advice on starting a resident committee?
Hi Sue
I have added a message in the last newsletter about this subject.
Take care and stay safe 🙂
Birgit
Good Afternoon,
I was unable to play the PowerPoint game Friendly Battles Game. I can load it, but it will not play. Thank you!
Hi there,
I am originally from Switzerland and saw you have cue cards for Switzerland. I would like to poiint out that Switzerland does not have a Swiss Language, the language spoken will depend on the part of Switzerland you are from. There are 4 languages spoken in Switzerland: German (every German Canton also has their German dialect), French, Italian and Romanch
The cards you have are only for the German part of Switzerland
Cheers
Antonella
Hi Antonella
Thank you for your message. The many different languages and dialects are noted in the profile. At this stage we are unable to put up every language and every dialect spoken in all the different countries.
Thank you once again 🙂 take care and stay safe:)
Birgit
I am looking for Lebanon, Slovenia and Malta Cultural profile and other relevant forms
Hi Mvillani
You will find the profiles under the Multicultural tab
https://www.qualityaging.com.au/multicultural-profiles/
Kind Regards
Birgit
Hello there, I receive you email every month and a I have been a member for years now. In the email it shows a quizz’s etc. called “train your brain.” but when I get onto your website I can never locate them. (I usually use the search in the top right hand corner of the screen)
Can you please help.
thanks Patricia Martin
Hi Patricia
The “Train Your Brain” are booklets you can print up for your residents to use in their rooms, they came about due to covid-19 and the need for something for residents that were isolated and needed stimulating. However they are able to be used for other activities as well.
You will find them here https://www.qualityaging.com.au/one-one-activities/
If you click on the pictures in the newsletter when it arrives there are links to connect you to the page where you will find them.
Thank you for your continued support 🙂
Birgit
H,
Is it possible to have a set of Footy tipping sheets without the logos for the teams?
Thanks
Hi
Due to time restraints this is not possible at this time, apologies for any inconvenience.
Regards
Birgit
Hi there,
I can’t thank you enough for your website. I work for hospice and I go into facilities to do activities. Since the pandemic hit us in the USA I have not been allowed in any facilities. But I have been sharing some of your activities with the activity directors in those facilities. They have been so grateful for the help! I’ve given you all the credit. I’m sure some of them will be joining this site also!
My only suggestion is that you remember people from all over the world are using your site. So much of your activities are subjected to Australia. Our patients have no idea what some of these puzzles/topics are about.
Other than that, you guys rock!!
Thank you for all your help throughout these hard times. We pray you all stay safe and healthy!
God Bless!
Thank you April for your comments and giving my site credit.
We are based in Australia and have many members in Australia as well as expanding in to the USA.
If you would like to email me at enquiries@qualityaging.com.au with a list of events that are important to people of the USA, we will be more than happy to provide more activities in relation to these. Allowing your residents/patients to be more engaged.
Kind Regards
BIrgit
hi there just wondering how do you get activities to generate on to smart TV ? (wahoo we just got one) I can get site to open but as soon as I click on quizz page it won’t open .
Cheers Penny
Have emailed you on this matter 🙂
Love this site … it is such a great help to me 🙂
Mickie
Hi Birgit,
I’m facilitating an Indian multicultural day soon and have been on the armchair travel site but some of the files are unable to be printed. Could you please look into Fast Facts on India.
Thanks in Advance
Tracy
Hi Birgit,
THANK YOU for your prompt revision with the latest changes to the AFL Footy Tipping competition.
I was at a loss as to what to do with Round 5?
My residents love the format you have created.
Its large enough to read and those who have difficulty reading, can recognise the team logos.
I love your site and THANK YOU for all your wonderful resources and we all appreciate the hard work you and your team put into proving us with the necessary tools to do our job!
Thank you so much Kath. I will try and stay on top of the never ending changes that no doubt are going to happen 🙂
Birgit
Hi Birgit,
Just wondering if things have changed in the Birthday section, I thought I had used the Birthday Posters with just the Month on but when I went to use this morning I can only see 2019 Posters? Is it possible just to have the Month without the year on a Birthday Poster?
Thank you for all your efforts in assisting us in this role.
Shirley
Hi Shirley
Apologies the 2020 links must have disappeared with the transfer to the new server … All fixed now.
Birgit
Do you have a Newsletter template please.
Also, great ideas and resources. I look forward to more new and exciting resources in the future.
kind regards
Sandra
Have sent you an email.
Birgit

Rachael
Hi Rachael
I will send you an email.

Birgit
Hi Birgit,
Thank you for all the wonderful resources. There’s lots of great content to help make interesting calendars for residents. I use your wonderful resources each month to build my program.
However, I did notice in the The Fabulous 50’s quiz that the same quiz is in Part 1,2 and 3.
Keep up the great work. It is very much appreciated.
Regards
Karen
Hi Karen
The pictures are the same however the questions throughout the quiz are different.

Birgit
Hello,
Thank you for providing such a ‘quality’ and valuable service.
In class – Dip L&H I have recommended this site as an ‘up to standard’ resource for documentation.
If I may make a suggestion:
Please set all links to ‘open in a new tab’.
Currently, opening any of the links replaces the page that is opened.
As the linked page is closed it also closes the QA page.
Also, is it would be handy to have a ‘keep me signed in’ option.
Many thanks,
Kath
Thank you so much for your comments Kath.
If you right click on a link you do have the option to open in a new tab/window. (This may assist you until the others have been changed as that will take some time).
I will also look into your other suggestions.
Birgit
I would like to know if you are able to provide more recent resources . Your Quality Dementia Care Guide To Practice In Residential Aged Care Facilities for all staff is dated February 2007. This is 11 years old , is there a more recent version that you can supply.
Regards
Karen.C
Hi Karen
On reviewing the Dementia Australia site ( where the information has been resourced from) it is also dated February 2007.
Birgit
cAN YOU PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE MORE RECENT RESOURCES AS THE quality Dementia Care A Guide to Practice in Residential Aged Care Facilities for all staff is dated 2007. Do you have a more recent version.
See previous reply
Hi Birgit,
I was looking at the sweep form and noticed it is dated 2014 and I was just wondering if you could edit the date off the top of the Form and leave it with out a date so it can be used every year, I’m sure there is a way I could do it but I haven’t worked it out,
Thanks for all you do,
Shirley
Fixed now ….. I had changed it earlier but some reason it only changed it on my pc.
It should be fine now …. Let me know if not!
Thanks Shirley
Hi Birgit,
I was just printing out Close Ups – The Mind’s Eye sets in Discussions/Reminiscence and noticed in each of the 4 sets that number 7 is missing, last time I used set 1&2 I never noticed this but did today and went back and checked each set just to make sure.
My residents love this so Thank you for a great activity.
Shirley
Thank Shirley… will check !
Birgit
Should be all fixed now Shirley.
Thanks again!
Birgit
Hi Birgit,
I have just renewed my subscription for another year and I am excited to see what will be added to Quality Aging.
I was looking at the upcoming activities in the November calendar and noticed that you have Melbourne Cup down for Nov 3rd, Melbourne Cup is always held on the 1st Tuesday so this year it will be on Nov 1st, just thought I’d mention it.
Thanks for your time and effort with this wonderful helpful site,
Kind regards,
Shirley
Thanks Shirley
Will fix it tomorrow. … must have been tired when I finished that.
Thank you for your continued support.
Birgit
Fixed now Shirley, Thanks
Thanks Birgit,
I can only imagine how busy you are with putting together this site and more,
hope you take some free time for yourself to relax and enjoy.
Shirley
Hi Birgit
It’s still showing on the actually poster as 3rd November for Melbourne Cup. On the front advertising it says the 1st, but when you actually go into the poster it’s the 3rd.
Thanks for all your work.
Vicky
Will check in the morning …mine says the 1st when I download it….. refresh the page… it is on tomorrow’s to do list.
Thanks Vicky
Hi Vicky
Have redone the poster ..please check again.
Thanks for your feedback and continued support.

With the event posters is there anyway that we can insert the time, date and place when we hold our events? At the moment we need to keep designing our own posters but they are not of high quality as the ones you have. This will cut our time by heaps. Especiallly this month with Melbourne Cup Day and Remembrance DAy Service….
Hi Katja
Am working on this for you. Always happy to help where I can.
Thanks for your comments.
Birgit
For the quiz questions is it possible to have them not in PDF format as we put up the questions in our powerpoint slides and it would make it a great deal easier to copy and paste the questions? Love the cue cards as we work in a multi lingual village and they are nice and clear. Keep up the excellent work. Big thank you to Catherine Farthing for getting our Bankstown/Holroyd Group onto this site!!!!
Hi Birgit,
Thank you so much for your time and effort in making the lifestyle role so much easier, I love your ideas and have used so many of them in my role of activities co- ordinater at the retirement village I work for.
I was just wondering if it was at all possible when putting up the event posters if you could include one with out the actual date displayed as well, so we can choose to use on another day, quite often we aren’t able to hold the event on the exact day but will hold it a few days later, I love the idea of displaying a poster for events and special days.
Thanks,
Shirley
Hi Shirley
I’m pleased that your job has become easier and that my site has aided somewhat to that task.
In keeping with making your job easier, I will add posters without dates for you.
I will get October posters sorted for you today and then carry on as normal from then.
Hope this helps.
Keep up the great work!
Birgit

Thank you so much Catherine. I will check out the newsletter with Diversional Therapy Australia.
Glad you like it. 🙂
Birgit
thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I’ll keep in touch.
Anytime Cheryl and if you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask.
Have a great week!
A great website still looking through all you have to offer. I’m a little concerned about you calendar of activities. I plan activities and special days months in advance when I click on July for some ideas you say you are still working on the page come back later. Is this permanent or still a work in progress?
Hi Cheryl
Thank you for your comments. This website is still very much a work in progress. As there is so much to put on and it is basically a one woman show I am working as fast as I can. Activities for May will be online tomorrow and then I will be working on June and July. I am having some time off work at the moment so the activities should be coming online more quickly.
Thank you for your patience.
Birgit
I am loving these actvity procedures you have, I have accreditation coming up and they are saving me so much work. Have just taken over a lifestyle coordinators position and your site is saving me loads of time. Cheers x
Thanks Jenna.
If there is anything we can assist with, to make accreditation an easier process please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Good Luck with the new position. Hope it is everything you want it to be.
