Let me introduce myself, my name is Birgit Heaney. I have been in the aged care industry since 1990, in many varied positions. The role that I found the most rewarding was as a Lifestyle Coordinator.

I have completed my Diploma of Community Services (Leisure & Lifestyle) along with other certificates in relation to activities, aged care and dementia.

It has been a steady and natural progression to produce Quality Aging.

Quality Aging’s aim is to provide a resource for Lifestyle Coordinators and their staff to provide a person centred approach to their residents. To enable them to do this we have devised documentation and other resources with accreditation in mind. Print them up, fill in the gaps and pop them into your folders.

There are a wide variety of activities, along with relevant documentation to enable lifestyle / activities coordinators to provide a wider range of activities for  residents. There is also valuable information that may be sourced via our website which has been sourced from other sites.
Activities will be constantly added to Quality Aging as we are continually evolving to provide you with more and more choices and opportunities for you to create a fantastic lifestyle program.

We welcome feedback and suggestions as this will also provide opportunities for Quality Aging to deliver what it is that you need or require.

By working together and sharing information we can all make a huge difference in how our care is delivered and how the quality of life for our residents is improved.
