St Andrew has been the patron saint of Scotland for over 1,000 years, and is commemorated across Scotland on St Andrew’s Day, 30 November, with festivals, traditional Scottish dancing, and plenty of whisky. The exact reason for his sainthood is cloaked in mystery and myth alike, though one thing is for certain, the Scots certainly know how to throw a celebration in his honour!
